Advanced Retina Services Coming Soon
A New Chapter in Eye Care
Jharkhand Eye Bank, Hospital & Research Centre is pleased to announce that Advanced Retina Services will soon be available. This has been made possible through the generous CSR support of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Ranchi.

A major step in this project was the installation of our new Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine on 25 June 2026. OCT is an advanced, non-invasive imaging system that helps diagnose and monitor retinal diseases at an early stage.
The new service will support the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion and other retinal disorders.

To strengthen our infrastructure, a new generator was commissioned on 18 June 2026, ensuring reliable power for patient care and essential equipment.

On 27 June 2026, the OCT machine was formally inaugurated with a simple traditional ceremony. Although our doctors were unable to attend because of the Muharram processions, members of the hospital and the Bihar Eye Bank Trust marked the occasion together and expressed their hope that this new facility will benefit patients across Jharkhand.
Dr. P. Sinha, Secretary, Bihar Eye Bank Trust, put a touch of sindur on the machine. Mukesh Kumar Singh offered incense.

Sunil Chaudhary, Administrator, placed a garland on the OCT.

We are grateful CCL, Ranchi, for helping make this important addition to our services possible through CSR funding.
Advanced Retina services will begin soon. Further details will be announced shortly.
