Safeguarding the Sight of the Young
During Eye Donation Fortnight Bihar Eye Bank Trust undertook eye testing in schools to safeguard the sight of the young and tell them about eye donation. In Hi-Q International Academy eyes of students of Classes 6, 7 and 8 were examined. Medicines were prescribed and where necessary, students were advised to visit a hospital if they needed spectacles. Pamphlets about eye donation were given to the students. The camp was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Teacher-in-Charge, Sm. Sutapa Bhattacharjee, welcomed Dr. Vinita Sinha and her team. The school had made very good arrangements.

Jharkhand Eye Bank Hospital and Research Centre is run by Bihar Eye Bank Trust, a registered charitable trust (No. 17174 of 1974 under the Indian Trust Act), founded by Late N. Bakshi I.C.S. The Trust is headed by H.E. the Governor of Jharkhand and includes other state dignitaries.
The Bihar Eye Bank Trust is a permanent member of Eye Bank Association of India and is registered under the District Blindness Control Society, Ranchi.
The Hospital is housed in a three-storied building standing on 0.7 acres of land in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. It is easily reached road, rail and air.
