BIHAR EYE BANK TRUST WELCOMES THE NEW GOVERNOR OF JHARKHAND
On 3 March 2023, some of the Trustees of Bihar Eye Bank Trust called on the Governor, H. E. Shri C. P. Ramakrishnan who became Governor of Jharkhand on 18 February 2023. He has served as a two time member of the Lok Sabha from Coimbatore. From 2016 to 2019 he was Chairman of the All India Coir Board which comes under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

The Trustees greeted H.E. with a floral bouquet. The Trustees were Mr. Siddhartha Ghosh, landowner and businessman, Mr. Bhaskar Bhattacharjee, electrical engineer by profession and Director, Concom Consultants and Dr. Pronoti Sinha, retired Professor of English and Secretary, Bihar Eye Bank Trust. Mr. Nitin Mohan Kulkarni I. A. S., Principal Secretary to the Governor was present.

The Governor is also the ex-officio President of Bihar Eye Bank Trust. The Trustees therefore welcomed him to Jharkhand as our new Governor and as the ex-officio President of the Trust. H.E.’s comments showed that he had familiarized himself with the matters of the Trust. The Trustees discussed some problems of the hospital and it is hoped that the support of the President will help Jharkhand Eye Bank, Hospital and Research Centre to progress faster.

Jharkhand Eye Bank Hospital and Research Centre is run by Bihar Eye Bank Trust, a registered charitable trust (No. 17174 of 1974 under the Indian Trust Act), founded by Late N. Bakshi I.C.S. The Trust is headed by H.E. the Governor of Jharkhand and includes other state dignitaries.
The Bihar Eye Bank Trust is a permanent member of Eye Bank Association of India and is registered under the District Blindness Control Society, Ranchi.
The Hospital is housed in a three-storied building standing on 0.7 acres of land in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. It is easily reached road, rail and air.
