Republic Day Celebrations
On the occasion of Republic Day, January 26, 2025, the Jharkhand Eye Bank, Hospital, and Research Centre, run by the Bihar Eye Bank Trust, celebrated the day with great enthusiasm and fervour. The event took place at the hospital’s premises on Baritu Road, Ranchi, and was attended by staff, children, and a dedicated audience.
Sri Sanjay Tirkey, the former District President of JMM, hoisted the National Flag. The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem, with everyone present joining in a moment of unity and patriotism.

After the ceremony, Sri Sanjay Tirkey distributed gifts and sweets to the children present, spreading joy and warmth among the little ones. To further commemorate the day, laddoos were served to all attendees, ensuring that the spirit of Republic Day was shared by everyone in the gathering.

In his address to the audience, Sri Sanjay Tirkey emphasized the importance of working together for the betterment of society and highlighted the significance of Republic Day as a reminder of India’s democratic values and the sacrifices made by countless individuals for the nation’s freedom.
Dr. P. Sinha, the Secretary of Bihar Eye Bank Trust, also addressed the gathering. She shared the hospital’s mission of safeguarding the eyesight of the people and stressed the importance of eye health awareness. Dr. Sinha encouraged the children to play an active role in promoting eye health by advising their friends to have their eyes tested if they noticed signs of vision problems, such as frequent rubbing of eyes or difficulty in seeing. She also urged adults to take the same responsibility by advising those with eye problems to seek the right care.
The program concluded with Dr. Sinha extending her best wishes to all on the occasion of Republic Day hoping that everyone would continue to work towards the health and well-being of the community.
Just as members were going to share a cup of tea, Sri Suresh Kumar Baitha, MLA of Kanke arrived and was warmly welcomed with a bouquet in recognition of his first visit to the hospital and to congratulate him on his new role as an MLA.

Sri Baitha expressed his awareness of the hospital’s significant contributions to the district and apologized for his late arrival. He graciously offered to sit with the management team to explore opportunities for further development and collaboration to enhance the hospital’s impact.
