The Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand is the ex-officio President of Bihar Eye Bank Trust which runs Jharkhand Eye Bank, Hospital and Research Centre, Ranchi. Sri N. M. Kulkarni I.A.S. Principal Secretary to the Governor is also an ex-officio Trustee along with the Finance Secretary and the Health Secretary of Jharkhand.
Jharkhand Eye Bank, Hospital and Research Centre is a charitable hospital which has rendered considerable service to the underprivileged, with regular free cataract operations for people in remote areas.

Treatment and operations are available for cataract, manual and phaco, glaucoma, squint, DCR and DCT along with insertion of artificial eyes and contact lenses.
Today the Secretary of Bihar Eye Bank Trust, Dr. P. Sinha, retired Professor of English, accompanied by the Treasurer Sri S. S. Dubey, Retired Deputy Secretary Finance and Trustee Sri Ajay Kumar Jain Partner/Director CN Group of Industries, paid a visit to H.E. the Governor to request him, in his capacity as the President of the Trust, to convene a meeting of the Trust at an early date. Issues to be decided were discussed. Sri N. M. Kulkarni was present.
H.E. Sri Santosh Kumar Gangwar agreed to call a meeting at an early date.

Jharkhand Eye Bank Hospital and Research Centre is run by Bihar Eye Bank Trust, a registered charitable trust (No. 17174 of 1974 under the Indian Trust Act), founded by Late N. Bakshi I.C.S. The Trust is headed by H.E. the Governor of Jharkhand and includes other state dignitaries.
The Bihar Eye Bank Trust is a permanent member of Eye Bank Association of India and is registered under the District Blindness Control Society, Ranchi.
The Hospital is housed in a three-storied building standing on 0.7 acres of land in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. It is easily reached road, rail and air.
